How did you get into design and letterpress printing?
I completed a BFA and MFA in printmaking and during the course of my studies I fell in love with letterpress. In between undergrad and grad school I drove 400 miles to buy my first press without ever having seen one in person. I learned more about the process in grad school and then spent countless hours (years) refining my skills. I love that my fine art background really helped to hone my skills as a printer and designer.

Where do you find inspiration for your designs?
I am most inspired by personal experiences - from myself and my friends. I also have a fairly sarcastic sense of humor, which shows up in the work! I tend to prefer minimal designs with a masculine slant but will often throw in bright colors or script fonts for some balance.

What kind of press(es) do you use?
I have five presses - two Heidelberg Windmills, a Vandercook, a C&P, and a tiny tabletop Sigwalt. I use all of them for various jobs.

Which press was used to print the Nicely Noted cards?
The cards for this month's collection were printed on one of the Windmills. These presses are wonderful workhorses!
